San Jose Junk Removal Prices

Every item in the catalog carries its own San Jose price, and that price already includes the carry from wherever the item sits, the loading and the drive to a recycler or transfer station.

Below are the pieces people ask about most. The quote page lists everything else.

San Jose Price List

Item / loadPrice
Sofa / Couch$126
Sectional (3-piece)$185
Queen Mattress$103
Refrigerator$164
Washer$133
TV (42–65")$68
Office Desk (L-shaped)$134
Treadmill$115
Truck-Fill (1/4 · 4 cu yd)$241
Truck-Fill (Full · 16 cu yd)$732
Minimum order: $100. The full figure is on screen before a crew is dispatched, and nothing gets added at the door.

Included Without Asking

  • Carrying from any room, floor or backyard
  • Elevator and loading-dock scheduling
  • Taking apart beds and desks that won’t fit through a door
  • Recycler routing for TVs and appliances
  • Transfer-station and landfill fees
  • Donation drop-offs

Garages and Whole Homes Go by the Truckload

Once a job fills a garage bay, pricing by volume makes more sense. The truck holds sixteen cubic yards: $241 buys a quarter of it, $431 half, and $732 the entire bed. Your quote runs the numbers both ways — per item and per load — and charges whichever is lower.

Open the garage door and take one wide photo — the flat price comes back while you’re still standing in the driveway.

How a San Jose Pickup Works

1

1. Snap the pile

A single recliner or a two-car garage’s worth — every piece is identified and priced from the San Jose list.

2

2. Choose the window

Fix anything the photo missed, then pick a time that suits you instead of waiting for your collection day.

3

3. Out the door, sorted

An insured local crew does the carrying, then splits the load between donation, recyclers and the transfer station.

Built for Silicon Valley Moves

Transfers, new jobs, layoffs and return-to-office shifts keep furniture moving all year here. Relocation cleanouts are the signature job in this market, and they rarely involve just one room.

The Apartment

North San José, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale and Mountain View are full of mid-rise rentals with move-out inspections and reserved elevators. We work to your lease date.

North San José move-outs →

The Garage

Ranch houses from the 1950s through the ’70s were built with slabs, not basements, so the garage became the storage room and the car moved to the driveway.

Cambrian garage clear-outs →

The ADU Project

Turning a garage or backyard shed into a rentable unit starts with emptying it. We clear it before the contractor arrives.

Remodel and ADU debris →

Electronics

California doesn’t allow TVs, monitors and most electronics in household trash, so a home-office purge needs a recycler, not a garbage cart.

San José Junk Pickup vs. Calling a Hauler

Several cities in our area run their own bulky-item programs, and the biggest one is genuinely generous. Here’s an honest look before you book anyone.

San José: Free, up to 12 Items

The City’s Junk Pickup is free for single-family homes and apartment complexes, owners and renters alike, and takes up to 12 items per request. Book through 311 and expect confirmation within two business days.

But It’s Curbside, on Garbage Day

Items go out on your regular collection day, placed by the curb no more than 24 hours ahead — not in red zones, beside hydrants or next to parked cars. The crew doesn’t come inside.

Mountain View: Two a Year

Mountain View residents get two free cleanups each calendar year, by appointment: a stack of bags and boxes up to four by four by eight feet, plus up to three bulky pieces.

Santa Clara: Once, in Spring

The City of Santa Clara runs an annual cleanup campaign — in 2026, April 27 through May 22. Contractors and businesses can’t use it, and some developments don’t take part.

Other cities in the footprint have their own bulky programs, and we don’t repeat rules we haven’t confirmed — check with your city. The short version: a handful of items that are already at the curb and can wait for garbage day belong with the City. A full garage, anything that has to come out of the house, more than 12 items, or a deadline this week is where we fit.

A Typical Week in the Valley

High rents mean small units and full garages, and nobody here pays to store things they don’t use. These are the jobs that fill the calendar.

What We Haul Most

  • Relocation cleanouts before a lease ends
  • Full-garage clear-outs in ranch-house neighborhoods
  • Home-office electronics and desks
  • Eichler and hillside estate cleanouts
  • Garage emptying ahead of ADU conversions
  • June move-outs near SJSU, Santa Clara University and Stanford

San José was founded in 1777 as Pueblo de San José de Guadalupe, California’s first civilian settlement, and served as the first state capital from 1849 to 1851.

Sorted, Not Dumped

Furniture in good condition goes to donation. Refrigerators and freezers go to certified refrigerant recovery. TVs and computers go to electronics recyclers. Remodel debris goes to a C&D recycler.

The sorting is included.

Over the Hill

Santa Cruz County and the San Mateo coast are in our area too, but Highway 17 and the coast roads are slow. Same-day there depends on the route, and we’ll say so on the quote.

Why San Jose Books JunkRabbit

We Come Inside

The City’s program stops at the curb. Our crews carry from the bedroom, the side yard, the backyard shed or the third floor.

No 12-Item Ceiling

Bring the whole garage. Big jobs are priced by the truckload, and we’ll send more trucks if it takes more.

Your Date, Not Garbage Day

Pick a window that fits your move-out or closing instead of lining up with your collection schedule.

Priced From a Photo

You see the flat number before anyone drives over — nobody names a price on your doorstep.

Insured Crews

Vetted, insured haulers, with a certificate of insurance for buildings and HOAs that require one.

One Price Map

Gilroy, Palo Alto, Fremont and Santa Cruz all use the same price list.

San Jose Junk Removal FAQs

How much does junk removal cost in San Jose?

It depends on what’s in the photo. For reference, San José customers pay $126 per sofa, $103 per queen mattress, $164 per fridge and $68 per mid-size TV. Bigger jobs run from $241 for a quarter truck up to $732 for a full one, and the minimum is $100.

Why hire a hauler when the City picks up 12 items free?

For a few pieces already at the curb that can wait for garbage day, use the City. People book us when there are more than 12 items, when things are still inside or upstairs, when a lease or closing date won’t wait, or when their building or HOA doesn’t allow curb piles.

Can you empty a whole garage in one visit?

Yes. Garages usually price by the truckload, starting at $241 for a quarter of the truck, and the crew loads straight from the garage.

Do you take TVs and computers?

Yes. California keeps most electronics out of household trash, so we take them to electronics recyclers.

Do you go over the hill to Santa Cruz?

Yes, Santa Cruz County is part of our area at the same prices. Same-day timing there depends on the route over Highway 17.

Which East Bay and Peninsula cities are included?

Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, Castro Valley, San Leandro, Pleasanton, Dublin, Livermore and San Ramon in the East Bay; Palo Alto up through Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos, Belmont, Foster City and San Mateo on the Peninsula.

Ready to Get the Garage Back?

Send one photo and see the flat price in seconds — from $100, Gilroy to San Mateo, Santa Cruz to Livermore.

No 12-item limit, no waiting for garbage day, nothing to drag to the curb.
