Prices and Quotes
Where does my price come from?
Your photo. Each piece is recognized and matched to its published San Jose price, and you see the total before booking anything. If the picture missed a box or two, add another photo and the total adjusts.
What’s the smallest job you’ll book?
The minimum order is $100. One sofa ($126) or one washer ($133) already clears it on its own.
Does a third-floor walk-up cost more than a ground-floor pickup?
No. Stairs, elevators and long hallways are part of the flat price wherever the item is.
Is today more expensive than next week?
No. If a crew is free today, the price is the same as any other day.
When is paying by the truckload better than paying per item?
For garages, whole apartments and estates. The truck holds sixteen cubic yards, from $241 for a quarter of it to $732 for the whole thing. Every quote is calculated both ways and you’re charged the lower one.
Booking and Pickup Day
How fast can a crew arrive?
Often the same day or the next one, depending on where you are and how big the job is. The open windows show on the quote page.
Do I have to be there when you come?
No. Leave the garage open, share a gate or door code, and you’ll get photos once the space is empty.
Who does the actual hauling?
Vetted, insured local crews working through JunkRabbit. We handle the booking and your questions; they bring the truck and the muscle.
Can you handle my building’s move-out rules?
Yes. Tell us about elevator reservations, loading-dock hours or a certificate-of-insurance requirement when you book.
What We Take and Where It Goes
Can old electronics go in a California garbage cart?
No. TVs, monitors and most electronics are kept out of household trash in California, so we take them to electronics recyclers. More on the e-waste rule.
What happens to a refrigerator you remove?
Refrigerant has to be recovered by a certified technician before an appliance is scrapped, so fridges, freezers and AC units go to an appliance recycler rather than a landfill.
Do you take hot tubs and pianos?
Yes. A hot tub is $364 and an upright piano $364, with the crew size each one needs.
Will you haul leftover paint cans?
Yes. Each can is priced by its size — $30 per gallon can, $52 per five-gallon bucket.
City Programs and Coverage
What does San José’s free Junk Pickup include?
It’s free for single-family homes and apartment complexes, for owners and renters, and takes up to 12 items per request. Items go by the curb on your regular garbage day, set out no more than 24 hours ahead. Book through 311.
How do Mountain View and Santa Clara handle bulky items?
Mountain View gives residents two free by-appointment cleanups per calendar year. Santa Clara runs one cleanup campaign each spring — in 2026, April 27 to May 22. Both are curbside.
Does my building or HOA have to allow a curb pile?
Not with us. The crew loads straight from your unit or garage, so nothing waits at the curb.
Which areas do you cover?
All of Santa Clara County, plus Fremont, Hayward, the Tri-Valley, the mid-Peninsula up to San Mateo, and Santa Cruz County. See the full area list.
