The short answer
JunkRabbit prices San José jobs from a published list: a flat price per item, or a truck-fill tier for piles and cleanouts. A standard sofa is $126, a queen mattress $103, a standard fridge $164 and a washer $133. Truck tiers run from $241 for a quarter truck to $732 for a full truck. The order minimum is $100, and there is no stairs fee, no same-day surcharge and no sales tax added.
How the list works
There are two ways a job gets priced. For a handful of identifiable things, such as a couch, a mattress, a dresser or a treadmill, each one has its own flat price, and the total is the sum. For a garage, a storage unit or a room of mixed boxes and odds and ends, the job is priced by how much of the truck it fills.
You see the price before you book, either by picking items from the list or by uploading a photo for an instant quote. The price only changes if you approve a change, for example if you add a bookcase on the day.
The same list applies across the whole service area. A dresser from a Japantown student rental, a Cupertino Eichler and a Gilroy ranch house costs the same. Every price includes carrying the item out from anywhere in the home, on any floor, plus loading and disposal.

| Sectional Sofa (5-6 Piece) | $271 |
| Recliner | $98 |
| Armchair / Accent Chair | $77 |

| Bookshelf | $72 |
| Desk (Standard) | $83 |
| Office Chair | $61 |
| Entertainment Center / TV Stand | $96 |
Solid wood is priced higher than particleboard because it weighs more. That is why a large hardwood dresser is $182 while a standard dresser is $126.
Mattresses and beds
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Mattress — Twin | $82 |
| Mattress — Full / Double | $94 |

| Bed Frame (Solid/Upholstered/Storage) — Twin / Full / Queen | $126 |
| Bunk Bed | $123 |
| Futon | $111 |
Book a mattress and box spring as a set. Separately, a queen and box spring would be $103 + $92 = $195; the set is $143.
Appliances and electronics
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Refrigerator (Standard) | $164 |
| Refrigerator (Side-by-Side / French Door) | $183 |
| Freezer (Chest) | $146 |
| Washer | $133 |
| Dryer | $128 |
| Dishwasher | $109 |

In California, refrigerant appliances need certified refrigerant recovery before scrapping, and electronics are universal waste that cannot go in household trash. Disposal is included in every price above.
Outdoor, fitness and big items
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Hot Tub / Spa | $390 |
| Hot Tub / Spa — 6-8 Person | $501 |

| Home Gym / Multi-Station | $241 |
| Upright Piano | $364 |
| Pool Table | $603 |
| Propane Grill | $123 |
| Patio Table | $89 |
| Trampoline | $116 |
| Storage Shed (Small, Disassembled) | $186 |
| Lawn Mower | $65 |
| Bicycle | $37 |
Side yards in South Bay ranch houses are narrow, and many hot tubs sit behind a gate. The flat price covers getting it out through that access.
Truck-fill tiers and storage units
| Load | Flat price |
|---|---|
| 1/4 truck (~4 cubic yards) | $241 |
| 3/8 truck (~6 cubic yards) | $338 |
| 1/2 truck (~8 cubic yards) | $431 |
| 5/8 truck (~10 cubic yards) | $513 |
| 3/4 truck (~12 cubic yards) | $587 |
| 7/8 truck (~14 cubic yards) | $661 |
| Full truck (~16 cubic yards) | $732 |
| Storage Unit (5×5) | $226 |
| Storage Unit (5×10) | $397 |
| Storage Unit (10×10) | $587 |
| Storage Unit (10×20) | $1,174 |
Use truck tiers for mixed loads such as garages, sheds and whole rooms. A packed two-car garage in Cambrian might be a full truck plus a quarter: $732 + $241 = $973.
Reading the list for a real San Jose job
Take a common South Bay job: a family in Willow Glen downsizing before a move. Leaving the house are a sofa, a queen mattress and box spring set, a standard dresser, a small dining table and four dining chairs.
On the list that is $126 + $143 + $126 + $103 + $45 + $45 + $45 + $45 = $678, carried out of the house, loaded and disposed of.
Now check the tiers. The nearest one, a 7/8 truck, is $661. When an itemized total sits that close to a tier, it is worth sending one wide photo of everything and asking for a truck-fill price, then booking whichever number is lower.
If they also want the old garage fridge gone, add it: $678 + $164 = $842 itemized. At that size, a full truck at $732 is the number to compare against. The rule of thumb is simple. A few large pieces read best line by line, while a house's worth of mixed things usually reads best as a tier.
Using the list well
Mind the minimum. The order minimum is $100. A single TV at $68 bills at $100, so pair it with its stand: $68 + $96 = $164.
Do the comparison. For a few big pieces, adding up item prices usually comes out lower. For lots of small mixed things, a truck tier usually does. If an itemized list is getting long, add it up and compare it with the nearest tier before you book.
Nothing is hidden. No stairs fee, no walk-up fee, no same-day surcharge and no sales tax in this area. The list is the price.
Free programs still exist. San José's Junk Pickup takes up to 12 items at the curb free on your garbage day. Use it when it fits. Use this list when you need carry-out, a bigger job or a specific day. Get your total on the instant quote page.
